The US Department of Justice (US Department of Justice) has closed its investigation into emissions and will not sue the German carmaker, Mercedes-Benz Group AG said.
Stuttgart-based Mercedes-Benz said in an email statement on SaturdayFiewincrashgametricks"We can confirm that the Justice Department has concluded its investigation and will not file a lawsuit against Mercedes-Benz."
Renata Jungo Brugger, a member of the Mercedes-Benz Management Board (Mercedes-Benz management board), said the decision was "another step towards legal certainty related to various diesel lawsuits". Justice Department officials did not immediately respond to a request for comment outside working hours on Saturday.
The company's shares fell the most in more than three months in April 2016, when the company announced that the Justice Department had asked it to review its certification and admissions procedures related to US emissions.
The company said it was co-operating fully with the authorities and that the US class action against some of its cars for violating emission standards was "groundless".
